Sure fire techniques every on line affiliate should use

If you promote affiliate programs on line, there are a few steps you can take to maximise your profit. With these tried and tested techniques and a daily action plan you can't fail to increase your earnings.

There are no magic formulas and secret tricks to sure fire success with on line affiliate programs, there are no shortcuts or get rich quick methods. You must treat your on line affiliate business no differently than any other business, but by using several good marketing practices and some hard work and dedication you will acheive success.

I would like to share with you just a few of the techniques that have worked for me over time, and continue to work today just as well as they did six months or even a year ago. Sorry there are no quick fixes here, but if you continue to apply these techniques diligently I can promise you that you will succeed, with increased sales and traffic to the landing pages of your affiliate offer.

The first tip is you can never succeed long term using the landing pages provided by the product vendor you are promoting. You must have your own landing page, the main reason for this is that you are going to be putting a lot of hard work into getting your visitors, and by sending them directly to your affiliate company you will never get their details and if on this first visit you don't get a sale they are lost forever.

Here are the advantages of having your own landing page and what you should put on it. Your landing page should contain the following elements. Number one a review of the product, number two an opt in form so your visitor can join your list and three testimonials from people who have used the product. To start with you can borrow some testimonials from your affiliate program owners page and down the line you can get your own by asking your own referred customers to provide testimonials to you direct. No matter how many affiliate products you represent you must always have a separate page for each product

The second tip is to provide a free report to your visitor that is related to your offer, you can use it as a bribe for signing up to your list, or give it to sites that provide resaleable e books or reports to give you a viral traffic producing item that can bring traffic to you for years . This report should contain a link to your product website or your own site.once your website visitor has signed up to your list you should write a short series of autoresponder messages, that remind your customer of the product you are promoting, and give them a few nuggets of information about it. That way you have several attempts to recycle your hard earned traffic by getting them to visit your site again and maybe leading them to a buying decision.

You should try to make sure the traffic you get to your site is targeted, by that I mean the visitor should be interested in your offer before they even arrive at your page. One of the ways to achieve this is by writing articles that relate to your product and submitting them to article directories. Try to submit at least two per week. By continuing this over time you will start to get a steady stream of visitors to your page as well as getting back links appearing all over the place as other website owners and ezine or newsletter publishers use your article as content.

Like I said no tricks or magic tactics, but using these tips over time can only lead to traffic and sales. It should not be thought of as a short term thing but within 30 days you will be seeing success. Use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs, and you can end up maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business. It may be hard work but just think of the paychecks that will be coming your way.

An Introduction To A Profitable Affiliate Marketers Day

Making a living on line from your home is many peoples dream job. It is possible as long as you treat it as a job and not a hobby, but what should you do how do you organise your time ?

Affiliate marketing is not a recent business model, for years now people have been working as affiliates for various businesses in the off line world, often called commission only salesmen or similar, the difference with the advent of the internet is that now it is possible to make a living by being an affiliate without ever leaving the comfort of your own home. In the old days an affiliate would spend his day on the phone or writing letters, chasing sales leads, calling on customers etc. Today’s world is much simpler, and of course up to the minute or even second stats on sales or commission earned is often available via your company’s website or your affiliate stats page, So you know exactly how well you are doing day by day.

So using this new world of instant internet communications, and working from the comfort of your home office or even kitchen table, what is the average affiliate’s day like. Mine goes something like this. After waking up and looking out of my window at the traffic jams of people

chasing their 9 to 5 paycheck, I eat a leisurely breakfast and turn on my computer to check the overnight developments with the affiliate programs I am promoting. After checking my income for the past 24 hours, I set to work on making any amendments to my site pages and doing a blog post. Constant updating a tweaking of my sites design and updating my blog not only increases conversion rates, but also helps with my search engine rankings, as a regularly updated site looks very attractive to those fresh content hungry search engine bots that crawl the net, and are responsible for that elusive yet achievable page one result for your chosen search term.

Time to write my daily article, which will be submitted to various article directories for other people to use as content on their sites or ezines / newsletters, thereby getting me a back links and exposure, a vital and free promotion and traffic tool that will bring results sometimes as much as a year or more down the line. At the same time I post the article to my sites article archive and a teaser to the blog with a link back to the full article. Next I let the world know the blog has been updated by telling the pinging services pingoat dot com and pingomatic dot com which automatically inform various sites that my blog has been updated.

I then hit the forums, this is one of the most important steps because as well as keeping you up to date with your chosen niche or product you are promoting, by putting your website link on your signature file which appear at the end of all your posts you can get more valuable back links to your web pages. Having noted a thread of interest I post a response to someone’s question and note that I should email my list with the information too.

Now its time to communicate with my list. These are the people that used my opt in form on the website for more information. I write a short e-mail detailing what I have posted to the blog today and including a short promo for the products I found on the forum. Thereby achieving two goals, firstly I am recycling my web traffic as the list members may well re visit my web site and secondly maybe making a few direct sales into the process.

I now write a web page that includes the details of the product in the e-mail, and upload it to my website, I add the link to this page to the e-mail and send it to my list, the page I have written as well as the content promoting the product contains ad sense ad units, as do all my article pages and content pages, which add another potential revenue stream to my site promotions.

Just time to post my daily thoughts to various sites like squidoo myspace and other directories and answer any email from customers or my list members.

Missed lunch never mind it’s now 3pm and as my work is done, the rest of the day is mine. Not a bad way to earn a living.

Invest in your affiliate business and watch your profits soar

Everything worthwhile has a cost... Whenever you think you are getting something for nothing, look again—someone, somewhere, somehow is paying for it. Behind every free lunch there is a hidden cost to be accounted for.

If you, or any of your business prospects, believe that time is money, then yes, the "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch" principle DOES apply to your internet business. What you can't invest in money, you will have to invest in time. You will have to be able to put the axe to the grind for more hours per day or week, and you will have to wait for more weeks and months before your ship comes in. Those are the facts.

If you are able to think outside the box (and few internet entrepreneurs CAN'T!) then the principle can be stretched a little. Are you balking at spending a few pennies a day to boost your sales? Do some research comparing what your marketing program offers and what the same services cost on the open market. Compare what information your program offers and what you can learn elsewhere. For example:

* find some online business forums and search these topics: free advertising, phone follow-up techniques, sample follow-up letters, sample phone scripts.

* investigate your and other affiliate marketing programs for all the above

plus services and tools such as: prospect notification, contact manager, online forum, billing and revenue collection, gateway website, company resource center, free sales and marketing tools, affiliate training courses, successful team support, commission or compensation schedule. In other words, look at EVERYTHING that the program will give you for free.* research what you would have to pay for any or all of the above tools, hints, and services.

How does your affiliate program measure up? What do you get for free and therefore, what do you save? How much can you afford to invest based on these savings?

If you absolutely HAVE NO MONEY to invest, that's one thing. If you have a knee-jerk reaction to investing in something that "says it's free", think again. What other business in the WORLD besides one on the internet can you begin for NOTHING? How many pennies a day can you AFFORD to invest in your business, maybe not now but as soon as possible?

If you have nothing, you can start and run a business. You will have to pay for it, however, with time. Free ads need to be worked every day. Free ads drop out of sight as new ads follow. You need to study your product till you know it inside and out, so all prospective affiliates can be led, encouraged, taught how they too can succeed. Since the name of the game is visibility amongst the billions of offers on the internet, you can't afford to waste a single hard-won prospect.

Without any money to invest in advertising, this will be a long slow process. You will have to determine how YOU can best achieve sales and attract affiliates, because each person's skills, style and dislikes are different.

You need to be internet savvy because all the information you require to succeed is out there, you just have to know how to find it. Study, seek your own answers, and know where and how to ask questions. You will win the game with patience and persistence.

Successful Affiliate Marketing Requires Patience

If you are sure that your web site can get a lot of traffic and generate fantastic sales for a certain company, you have to contact them to negotiate a tailored arrangement. If they aren't too enthusiastic to begin with, be patient because companies are approached every day by affiliates wanting to cut a "better deal".

The reality of it is that many affiliates cannot deliver what they promise, and the companies are extremely aware of this. For you as a potential affiliate marketer, you need to implement their links and banners, go the extra mile with ad articles and other unique strategies, generate some sales and then approach them again better prepared. You'll probably find that they'll have a change of heart. Finding good affiliates is very difficult and if you are performing for these companies they will keep you.

Most forms of advertising take some time to kick into gear. Putting a link up for a couple of days and then pulling it down because it is not generating any interest may not be a reflection on the product, but just in the way that it is being presented to your web site visitors. You know how fickle they can be.

If you have run successful campaigns before, try to remember the elements that made it a success and implement them again. Of course, you need to remember that what works for one product may not necessarily for another, but it's worth a try. Again, if you are having problems with promotion, contact the company. They will more than likely have thousands of affiliates and will know what strategies are working. A good advertiser may even go to the trouble of reviewing your site and provide you with some tips and hints based on their observations.

Are you afraid of a little competition? You shouldn't be! Smart affiliates are raking in hundreds in additional cash bonuses by competing in, and winning, monthly affiliate contests.

How To Double Your Affiliate Earnings In A Week

Earning money while working at home and using the Internet, is merely not a way of interacting with other people, but would also serve as a source of money, and this would be an intriguing idea to many people since it sounds too good to be true.

Affiliate marketing is by no means a unique concept and since a lot of people have bought or even sold something over the Internet, it's clear that achieving financial independence is not as hard as it seems.

How Exactly Does Affiliate Marketing Work

Just what exactly is affiliate marketing and how can you make money out of it. The basic concept sounds like this: the Internet is a big place and a producer needs a high profile to be successful, which means that the more people help promote its products for a cut of the action, the more money to be made. The producers need other people to play the role of virtual hawkers, while the people need money. Whenever a sale pushes through, the affiliate who directed the buyer gets a fixed sum, which is known in the industry as a commission.

The customer has a product, the producer is paid and the affiliate has his share of the profits. The more affiliates a producer can count on, the more sales it will generate, and more money will flow to the affiliates. This is why affiliate networks are better at making money online than individual marketers. The advantages are obvious for any affiliate.

How To Make More Money With An Affiliate Marketing Program

The first thing to remember when enlisting, is to be extra careful when joining an affiliate marketing network. If the program sells poor quality products, doesn't give you support and, worse, they want you to pay them at the start, then this most likely is a scam that you should avoid.

Look out for high commissions, good-quality products that are backed by independent tests and complete of support from the managers. These three aspects are what you need to make money with an affiliate program. Also, be sure to follow these tips to enable you to earn double on your affiliate marketing programs.

- Build a good website. You can make one or several landing pages for your affiliate programs. You can promote a number of related affiliate programs from one website, to the same market.

- Ensure that you enlist in affiliate programs that give complete support. There are times when you have questions about a product you are selling or how to market it, and your sponsor should be able to give good support and assistance. The more successful you are, higher the profits they would also make.

- Drive a lot of traffic to your site. To effectively succeed as an affiliate marketer, it is important for you to drive high-value targeted traffic to your site. You can do this in several ways, thru search engine submission, by advertising in e-zines and on websites where your targeted market can be regularly seen, join Google Adwords, put up a blog and do article distribution.

- Create a flashy, yet credible newsletter. Do not just construct your sponsor's list. Build one of your own with a free newsletter. You can also build a subscription box on your website and visitors can sign up there. Also, offer a free bonus to encourage people to sign ups.

- Offer a bonus whenever people purchase from your link: Giving a valuable bonus to people who purchase from your link, will persuade them to buy from your sponsor using your link and create long-lasting relationships with your target markets.

- Look for programs that offer residual income: Whenever you're choosing affiliate programs, try to look for those that offer a monthly income, and a good example of this would be selling membership sites.

Looking for the Best Affiliate Programs

The best way to try to explain this to you is to give you some experiences of a highly successful affiliate marketer when looking for an affiliate program to promote.

"When I first started searching for and implementing affiliations with various companies; it was one of the largest parts of time wasted during my day when it came to managing my website. I spent a disgusting amount of hours searching for suitable affiliate programs, implementing the links and then keeping track of what they did".

If you are hoping that marketing a website affiliation is going to get you rich quickly, forget about it. You will have to spend a lot of time in your project if you want to make it work for you. Then again, all money making ventures do, just ask Donald Trump."Of course, the income that was generated from each program was actually pretty low at that time because at that time the number of visitors to my site was not high either. With this in mind, it was not particularly uncommon for companies to disappear on me without warning me about it and since most affiliate programs only pay out at around the $25 mark, I would lose a lot of revenue in the end.

The other part of affiliation that I was not happy with was the idea of another companies banner's being plastered all over my site, if you place too many of them on any given page it only serves to confuse and irritate your visitors. think about it; how do yioou like it when you visit a site.

Any more than one animated element on a web page can be very distracting which leaves you with nothing gained at all, and many affiliate programs insist upon this type of bargain when signing on. By now, you must realize that I learned a lot just by trial and error.

Affiliate tracking can also a problem. After you have successfully applied to become an affiliate for a company, they will usually supply you with some personalized code or link. It is very important that this code is implemented correctly into your page; because otherwise you may be sending the company visitors without being reimbursed. Most snippets of code contain a unique user id; which is used by the company to distinguish which site sent traffic. Even if you do implement this code in the right way, it has been my experience on occasion for it not to function correctly".

Having heard of these experiences, you can see why I would not really recommend that you hunt around and sign up without much research and thought first, when finding a good affiliate program. Your time is too valuable and could be better spent creating content and updating your site. But there are some excellent individual companies offering affiliate programs out there.

What I have discovered to be very successful is to take advantage of companies like Offers Quest or Google for text link advertising. Text links are a great resource as they are bandwidth friendly, and when they are implemented properly add valuable content to your site which can also assist in search engine rankings.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, you will also need to know how to conduct a market study because this is how you will find your target audience. Without a targeted audience, your marketing campaign will not be effective. In the next tip I have begun to give you an outline of what you should include in your market study. It is best to write it down; especially if you are hoping to entice someone else into investing in your marketing venture. It is also a good way to keep track of your objective and provides a good guideline of what needs to be done.

Using Affiliate Marketing As A Mass Promotion Tool

There are Hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs out there that you can choose from and all of them are claiming to be the best. Some of them will give you the impression that all you have to do is implement their banners and links and wait for the money to start rolling in. This CAN be the case at times, but this scenario usually only applies to very large sites that have massive web traffic already. For most of us, being a successful affiliate requires a little more work than that!

When you are selling your wares through a website, you will need as much help as you can get and that is why affiliation is such a good deal. It gives you and like companies the chance to market your wares in more than one spot. As the marketing affiliate, it is your job to get you and other companies together to do it. Most affiliates use their own sites and combine marketing strategies with others. Your website is likely not geared toward one thing in particular so affiliate's who come in will gain a lot more from your services.

As the variety of goods and online services offered over the Internet has grown at an incredible rate over the last few years, and in response, so has the competition. Web site visitors need to have a very good reason for clicking on a link or banner. In most affiliate programs, you are offered a wide variety of banners that you can place on your site; all of them will be effective in getting attention from your target audience.

If you can gather a click through rate of at least 2%, then you are doing very well. It has been my experience, that highly colorful and picture filled banners do not perform as successfully as their simpler counterparts. The main reason for this is the time it takes to download it. If a banner is the last thing to load on your page and the banner ad is excessively byte "heavy", by the time it has loaded your visitor may already have scrolled down the page already and miss it entirely.

Heavy banner ads can also slow down the loading of your pages, or even some of the critical elements of your page and you can lose your visitors altogether. This is why A graphically rich banner can also confuse the actual message because the artwork and marketing blurb can be imbalanced. For these reasons, I would recommend that banners you implement be no more that 15kb wherever you possibly can.

Banners that have a lot of animation in them, such as rapid flashing, are also something to consider very carefully before setting them up. While these do achieve high click rates, they are also highly annoying to the average visitor. If you do decide to implement this form of banner advertising, you have to use it very sparingly.

Whenever you begin selecting any form of advertising that requires graphics you should try and keep the theme of your site in mind. In general, while graphical ads are meant to stand out and catch a visitor's eye, it shouldn't be to the point that everything else on the page is ignored. Whenever you can, you have to make sure that all banner ads or advertising that you use uses a link that opens in a new window. That way, if a visitor does choose to visit one of your advertisers it is easy for them to return to your page and review what they actually came to your site for.

A lot of companies are now offering their affiliates the options of using pop up and pop under ads. However, the fact is they annoy most visitors and are usually closed before they even have a chance to load by automatic program blockers. It is for this reason that you should use pop-unders instead and preferably those that only display once per visit.

Easy Affiliate Profit Increasers

In today’s society, everyone is searching for easy ways to make money. In a way, affiliate programs can be considered one of those opportunities. If you have a website that receives a high amount of traffic, you may be able to make money with affiliate programs, with little or no work.

Despite the possibility of making money with little effort, you may want to think about putting forth some effort. There are a number of relatively easy ways that you can go about increasing your commissions

If you are already in an affiliate program, you likely know exactly what affiliate program commissions are. If this is your first time joining an affiliate program, you may want to learn a little bit more. If you are looking for an inexpensive 'fast track’ affiliate training course you should check out super affiliate Ewen Chia's secret affiliate weapon

Affiliate program commissions are just like the commissions that many retail stores offer their employees for making large sales. When you join an affiliate program, you will be notified of your commission rate ahead of time. Say, that rate is five percent. Every sale that you help to generate, you will receive five percent of that sale in commissions. Many times, all you need to do is place a link or a banner on your website. That is why affiliate programs are often considered on the easiest ways to make legitimate money online.

One of the easiest ways to increase the amount of commission you make with affiliate programs is to choose your programs wisely. When it comes to affiliate commissions, different programs offer affiliates different commission rates. Typically, a common commission percentage offered by traditional product retailers for example Amazon.com is five to fifteen percent. Joining an affiliate program that has a relatively high commission percentage is one of the easiest ways that you can increase the amount of money you make. On digitally delivered products (software e-books informational services etc) you can be given, due to the very low costs incurred by the producers of these products, commission rates as high as 50% with 75% being increasingly available. By far the biggest and most popular provider of these being clickbank , Here you will find thousands of products gathered in one place plus you can promote any of the products without going through an approval process making it the fastest and most flexible of the affiliate scheme networks.

Another one of the many ways that you can go about increasing your commission is to be successful. Although this is often easier said than done, it can help you immensely. Most affiliate programs reward their highest performing affiliates. For instance, once you reach a high level of earning, like one thousand dollars in sales, you may be promoted to a higher commission level. Many affiliate programs do this as a way to motivate their affiliates. If you can successfully make sales, you can see an increase in the amount of commission you make.

In addition to choosing your affiliate programs wisely and performing better, you can also increase your commissions through experimentation. There are a large number of different ways that you can go about increasing your affiliate program commissions. The only thing is that not all of these ways work for everyone. The best thing that you can do is experiment. You will need to take the time to see what works for you and what doesn’t. When experimenting, you may want to try writing affiliate product reviews or recommendations, sending out monthly newsletters, optimizing your website for search engines, or submitting articles to article directories.

It is also important that you give it time. Increasing your affiliate commissions is not something that will happen overnight. The only way that you can increase your commissions right off the bat is by signing up with a high paying affiliate program. However, even with those programs, you are not guaranteed to make any sales right away.

If you are interested in using search engine optimization on your site, sending out newsletters, or submitting to article directories, you need to give these methods time to work. Although you may want to see results right away, it doesn’t matter if it helps one week from now or two months from now, at least you will be able to see an increase in your commissions.

By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to see an increase in the amount of money you make with affiliate programs. After time, you may very well end up making a full-time income just with Affiliate programs.

Guidelines To Follow When Choosing A Profitable Affiliate Program

When it comes to choosing an affiliate program, do you know what to look for you? If this is your first time joining an affiliate program, you are urged to keep on reading. Below are some guidelines that you may want to think about following.

Perhaps, the most important thing that you need to remember, when choosing an affiliate program, is not to pick the first affiliate program that you come across. This is a big mistake that many affiliate program participants make. Unfortunately for you, this can be a costly mistake.

What many do not realize is that the product you choose to promote will reflect on you and your business. That is why it is important that you take the time to thoroughly examine an affiliate program first. You will want to choose an affiliate program that involves a product that you can stand behind, one hundred percent.

One of the best ways to know that you are dealing with a legitimate affiliate program and a quality product is to test that product out. Although you are advised to do this, you may not want to or you may be unable to do so. If that is the case, you can still research an affiliate program or even the product that is being sold. You can easily do this online.

One of the best ways to do your research is to perform a standard internet search. Search with the name of the affiliate program or the product being sold. You can also check out websites that are known as scam websites. These websites tend to profile companies, individuals, or business opportunities that regularly scam consumers.

Before applying for or signing up for an affiliate program, you are advised to read all of the rules, restrictions, or guidelines associated with that affiliate program. Unfortunately, you may find yourself disqualified from an affiliate program right off the bat. For instance, there are a large number of affiliate programs that prohibit their products from being advertised on websites that display pornography, foul language, and other offensive content. Familiarizing yourself with an affiliate program’s rules and guidelines will prevent you from being denied from a program or later dismissed from one.

Perhaps, one of the most important things to remember, when choosing an affiliate program, is the product that you will have to sell. In conjunction with making sure that the product is a quality one, you will also want to make sure that it is related to your website or business, in one way or another. For instance, if your own website focuses on computer programming, you will not want to join an affiliate program that sells pet products. Joining an affiliate program that is related, in one way or another, to your own website may increase your chances of making a sale; thus increasing your profits.

Although it is important to choose a quality product to stand behind, you also need to remember that your goal is to make money. One of the easiest ways to make a substantial amount of money is to choose an affiliate program that pays their affiliates decently. The average commission for affiliates is three to five percent of each sale made. While this is a good percentage to make, there are higher paying affiliate programs. You may want to look for affiliate programs that pay around ten percent. In fact, there are even a select number of affiliate programs that pay around fifteen percent in commissions.

The above mentioned guidelines are just a few of the many that you will want to take into consideration, when choosing an affiliate program. Although the above mentioned points are helpful, the most important thing to keep in mind is your judgment. Using your best judgment is the easiest way to choose an effective affiliate program.

If carefully chosen, you could easily make a full-time living just with affiliate programs.

Increase Traffic to Your Website and Affiliate Products With Ezines

Let's begin with defining what an "ezine" is and how it can help you drive tons of traffic to your website and help you sell products and services. An ezine (electronic magazine) is much like a traditional magazine or newsletter. However, it is only delivered via email. People sign up to receive ezines for free or a monthly subscription fee. Most ezines are published weekly, but some are published daily, monthly or bi-monthly.

Generating Traffic with Ezines (Ads)
Classified Ads: the cheapest ads you can buy. Classified ads are limited to two or three lines and placed at the end of the ezine. Unless you place a classified ad in an ezine with 30,000 subscribers or more, your chances of getting a response are very small.

Sponsor Ads: these are more expensive than classified ads, but will give you much better response. Sponsor ads can be placed at the top, middle or bottom of an ezine issue. You can include more text in a sponsor ad so it's a good way to test your copy before going all out on a solo ad.

Solo Ads: these are the king of all ezine ads because your offer is sent exclusively to everyone on the mailing list and gets the full attention of the subscribers. No articles or other content is included. Solo ads can be expensive, but they can increase your response by as much a 100% over sponsor ads. You can usually expect a 10% response rate from a good solo ad. In other words, if you purchase a solo ad for $100 in an ezine with 10,000 subscribers, you should expect about 1,000 highly targeted visitors.

Note: Solo ads can be purchased for as little as $10. You will usually get a better response from a $10 solo ad sent to 500 subscribers than you will from a $10 classified ad sent to 5,000.

Here's your step-by-step guide to successful ezine advertising.

Step One: Subscribe to 3 or More Ezines
Subscribe to ezines that offer top sponsor and solo ads within your budget. Subscribing to ezines before you place your ads will allow you to determine the quality of the list and potential profitability of your campaign before you spend any money. You can also make sure your ad goes out.

You can find a wide variety of ezines in these directories:
http://topezineads.com
http://www.directoryofezines.com

Step Two: Contact the Advertisers
The surest way to maximize your results from any ezine is to ask people who have already advertised. Take a few minutes to contact one or more people who have placed ads similar to the one you want to place. Tell them you're new to ezine advertising and are afraid of losing money. Most people will be glad to help you out. And if they had a bad experience, they'll definitely let you know.

In addition, if you see the same ad running multiple times, that's a good indication that it was profitable. Smart marketers will run the same ad at least three times if the first one was successful.

Step Three: Contact the Ezine Publisher
Contact the publisher to find out if anyone has else has purchased an ad within the last month for the same product you want to promote. This is critical because you don't want to advertise the same product to people who may have already purchased.
Here are some additional questions to ask (if they are not stated on the website):

1 Can I personalize the subject line?
2 Can I personalize the message?
3 If yes, what are the personalization codes?
4 How often to you publish?
5 When is your next opening?
6 What is the maximum word count?

Step Four: Set Up an Ad Tracker
You will want to create a tracking campaign for each ezine that you advertise in. The system will create a link for you to use and it will track your visitors and commissions just like your regular affiliate link.
Never pay for adverting unless you can track the response. You need to know how many visitors and sales you get for each ad you place so you can determine whether or not you want to run another ad in a particular ezine.

This information is critical for determining how well each ad campaign does and how well you're converting visitors into sales. Sometimes you just need to tweak your ad copy and run the ad again for better results.
If you get good results the first time, run your ad again in a week or two. Not everyone will buy the first time around. And many who were "on the fence" the first time they saw your ad, may purchase the second time around.

Step Five: Write Your Ad
Most affiliate programs provide pre-written ads for you to use. While that is convenient, you'll get much better results if you don't use them word for word. Make them unique and follow some of these suggestions:
1 Add a personal endorsement. With all the hype online, people are more likely to read and click on something that you personally recommend.

2 Use a testimonial from the sale letter for the product you are promoting. That's an easy way to get content for a good solo ad.

3 Use other people's ads. One of the bests ways to come up with ideas for good ads is to read ezines. Look for ads that catch your eye. Modify them to fit the product you're promoting and add your own personal touch.

Step Six: Place Your Order
This is the easy part. You simply fill out a form with your ad copy and credit card information. After you process the order you will receive a confirmation telling you when the ad will run. And since you are already subscribed to the ezine, you can verify it yourself. Don't rely on them to send you a "courtesy copy."

Step Seven: Put Half Your Profits Back Into Advertising
Once you start generating sales from your ezine ads (this is why you need to track them accurately), take half of your profit and use that to purchase more ezine space. This ensures profitable growth and proper allocation of your marketing spend.

Ezine marketing and advertising is the same as any other online marketing vehicle. The key is to start small, test, evaluate the results, and channel your marketing to those ezines that produce a positive return. Once you're up and running, continue to tweak your ad to see if you can increase response rates.

How To Profit From Untapped Affiliate Markets

Affiliate marketing can be extremely lucrative as we all
know, but when you're just starting out it can be daunting
looking for affiliate products or programs to promote
because most of them are already being heavily promoted by
more experienced affiliate marketers than yourself.

So how can you find untapped, and therefore potentially
highly profitable products to promote as an affiliate?

Well let's start off with Clickbank, the leading retailer of
digital products, and one of the most popular affiliate
networks.

You're probably wondering why I'm mentioning Clickbank, as
most of these products have incredibly fierce competition,
but because they sell so many products there are still some
very profitable opportunities.

For example, most people naturally go straight to the
best-selling products in each category to find products to
promote. However, while it's a natural assumption to make
that all the best products on Clickbank are the biggest
sellers, you will often find some hidden gems that haven't
yet taken off for whatever reason, that you can make very
good profits from promoting on PPC search engines, in email
promotions, on your websites, etc.

That's one way of profiting from Clickbank products. An even
better way is to find new products and promote them heavily
as soon as they go on sale, particularly the quality
products that have strong sales pages. I'm not talking about
the internet marketing / make money products here, as these
are often heavily promoted by the internet marketing gurus,
but the various different niche products which have far less
competition.

This can be extremely lucrative, and is now very easy to do
because there are specialist sites that will allow you to
constantly scan for any new products that have just entered
the marketplace.

Okay, let's now look beyond Clickbank, as there are many
other untapped affiliate markets out there.

Do a search for 'affiliate networks' and you will come
across hundreds of different affiliate networks, each of
which will often list plenty of companies and their
respective products that you can promote as an affiliate.

These networks present plenty of opportunities because the
sheer volume of companies out there that have an affiliate
program means that there will inevitably be some companies
that are under-represented by affiliates, particularly on
Google Adwords and other PPC search engines.

This is particularly true outside of the US, where you will
generally find that there is far less competition in both
the organic search results and the paid search results.
Furthermore, if you look outside of the US, and look out for
companies that don't belong to an affiliate network but
instead have their own individual affiliate program, you can
make substantial profits as you will have far fewer
competitors.

This leads me on to my final point – promoting affiliate
programs in non-English speaking countries. While you will
find slightly less competition promoting affiliate products
in countries like the UK, Canada and Australia, you will
find that you will have substantially less competition in
the various non-English speaking countries of the world.

This is potentially an absolute goldmine. The problem you
have of course is not finding suitable products, but
translating your sales page or website into a different
language. Most translation software simply won't cut it as
they very rarely translate perfectly into the natural
language, and therefore will look amateurish, which will
adversely affect your affiliate commissions.

The best way of translating your website, therefore, is by
going directly to a native in-country translator. You can do
this either through making friends with someone from that
country over the internet, or by going to one of the many
freelance sites out there and hiring someone to do the work
for you.

Okay that basically sums up just some of the ways you can
find affiliate products to promote that have limited
competition. Remember there are so many opportunities out
there because you will never run out of companies to
promote. The world's a big place and there will always be
good companies out there who need more affiliates in all
kinds of different niches.

Don't Get Ripped Off !

For the most part, affiliate programs are a nice, easy way to make money online. However, like many other online opportunities, you need to be on the lookout for scams. Internet scams are all over the place, as they are increasing in popularity. Unfortunately, there are also scammers who are using affiliate programs as fronts.

Although it is hard to associate good news with internet scams, there is good news. That good news is that there are ways to make sure that you join an affiliate program, make sales, and actually get paid for those sales.

As previously mentioned, a large number of scammers are starting to use affiliate programs as fronts for their scams. These scams can take on a number of different sizes, shapes, and styles. One of the most popular affiliate program scams involves affiliate programs that do not pay. These programs are selling real, legitimate products. The only problem is that many of these affiliate programs do not pay. Essentially, you end up doing a bunch of work for nothing.

Another common affiliate program scam involves selling a product that doesn’t even exist. Not only will you not get paid for your hard work, but you will also be participating in a scam that involves ripping off consumers, by taking their money without giving them what they paid for.

As it was mentioned above, there are a number of different ways that you can prevent yourself from joining an affiliate program that doesn’t pay. One of those ways involves choosing a well-known affiliate program. If you need assistance choosing an affiliate program, you can seek it online. There are a large number of online websites that give accurate and updated information on a wide variety of affiliate programs.

There are also programs, which are regularly referred to as affiliate directories. These directories are actually in charge of running a company’s affiliate program. Many of these programs, which include LinkShare, come highly rated and recommend, as do the affiliate programs they have listed in their directories.

In conjunction with researching an affiliate program, you can also research the product that is being sold. A large number of customers write product reviews. Many of these product reviews, which can be both positive and negative, can be found online. You will also want to check out websites that are known as scam websites.

Scam websites allow internet users, just like you, to post ways that they have been scammed and by whom. You can find information on poor quality products, individuals, companies, and even affiliate programs that are not considered legitimate.

When researching an affiliate program or even a product, it is important to remember that nothing and no one is perfect. While it isn’t uncommon to find one or two negative reviews, you need to be cautious of numerous negative reviews.

Since it is relatively easy to avoid an affiliate program scam, you are advised to do so. If anything appears out of the ordinary or if you suspicions are raised, you are advised to use your common sense. In the long run, you will be glad with your decision to do so. Not only can avoiding an affiliate program scam ensure that you get paid, but it will also help you save your own reputation. The last thing you want to be associated with is an affiliate program that doesn’t deliver the products that they promise. In fact, your name or your company’s name could literally be drudged through the mud. While you may think that this won’t have a long lasting impact, it might just, especially if you plan on selling your own products in the near future. Even if your products are quality products, many consumers might remember you as the person who scammed them before.

Although it is relatively easy to spot an affiliate program scam, there are a few that might “fall threw the cracks.” If you later determine that you are involved in an affiliate program scam, or even just a program that is selling poor quality products, you are advised to get out as soon as possible. Severing your ties will help to ensure you get paid, as well as build a good name for yourself

Which Affiliate Networks To Avoid In Your Home Business

There are a lot of shocking tales relating to affiliate programs and networks. Folks have heard them time and time again, and some people are even cagey about joining one. The tales that they might have heard are associated with unlawful programs or pyramid schemes. Essentially, this type of promotion does not have a genuine, valuable product.

You do not need to be linked with these systems. It is clear that you wish to be with a program that proposes high quality products that you will enthusiastically support. An increasing amount of those who have joined before now and are successful is confirmation that there are trustworthy and valuable affiliate programs available.

Why participate in an affiliate program?

It enables you to work part-time. It offers you the chance to put together a good side income and it makes you the proprietor of a small business. Affiliate programs have previously produced plenty of millionaires. They are the living proof that hard work, non-stop searching, motivating and teaching others can pay dividends.

If you are thinking about joining one, you need to remember that you are getting into something that is within your capabilities. This will be a guarantee that you are able to have a successful outcome.

How do you select a good affiliate program to support? Here is some advice that you may want to consider before picking one:

1. A program that you like and have an interest in. One of the best methods of being sure that it is the kind of program you want to promote is if you are keen to buy the product yourself. If so, then the chances are that there are many more people who are also interested in the same program and products.

2. Find a program that is of superior quality. For example, search for one that is linked with a lot of experts in that particular field. That way you can be certain of the standard of the program.

3. Join in ones that propose authentic and feasible products. How do you know this? Perform some preliminary research. If possible, locate some of the existing members and customers to provide you with testaments to the integrity of the program.

4. The program caters to an expanding target market. This will make certain that there will be constant requirements for your referrals. Ask questions. There are forums and discussion boards that you can join and obtain honest feedback.

5. A program with a payment plan that pays out a residual income with a rate of 30% or more would be an ideal selection. There are a number of programs offering this type of compensation. Search hard for one. Do not waste your time with programs that do not compensate you very much for your hard work.

6. Be alert to the lowest quotas that you must fill or any sales objective that is impossible to reach. Some affiliate programs enforce pre-requisites before you receive your commissions. Ensure that you are able to exceed these requirements.

7. Select one that has a lot of kit and resources to aid you in increasing your business quickly. Some affiliate programs do not have these tools. Make sure that you choose one with plenty of useful tools you can apply.

8. Check if the program has an established system that enables you to monitor your networks and compensation. Ensure that this is made available to you online so that you can use it at any time and from any computer.

9. The program that offers good reasons for members to renew their membership. The affiliate program that offers constant help and improvements for its products has the propensity to hang on to its members. This can also guarantee the expansion of your networks.

10. Be aware of the bits that members are unhappy with about a program. As with the previous points, you can investigate this in discussion forums. If you know someone in the program it is also worth asking them for their opinion about any negative aspects to the program.

Have a comprehensive and detailed knowledge about the affiliate program and the network that you will be promoting it in.

Being knowledgeable about the type of program that you are going to become involved with will help you foresee and avert any potential problems that you may come across.

How To "Learn And Earn" An Income Online With Other People's Products...

Promote The Products You Believe In

When it comes to an affiliate program, one of the most common mistakes a program participant makes is choosing to sell a product that they do not believe in or fully stand behind, one hundred percent.

Although you may be making money, you may also be creating a bad name for yourself. That is why it is important that you promote or sell products that you believe in.

When it comes to promoting a product that you believe in, one of the most commonly asked questions is “how?” The best way to promote a product that you believe in is to actually try out the product. For instance, if you are promoting an e-book, you may want to think about reading the e-book in question. In fact, if you ask, you may be given the e-book to review for free or for a discounted price.

If you are interested in joining an affiliate program set up by a retailer, you will earn commission for all sales, not just a particular product. To test the waters, you may want to think about placing an order, even just a small one. This will give you a first hand look at the affiliate program that you will be promoting on your own site.

Perhaps, the greatest reason why you should test out a product is because if you don’t like it, there is a good chance that your customers won’t like it as well. In a way, you can look at it as providing a service to the general public, at least internet users. By not agreeing to sell a poor quality product, you will be saving other consumers, just like you, money. In fact, you should be proud of yourself for refusing to do business with an affiliate program that doesn’t live up to par.

Another reason why you should avoid doing business with an affiliate program that sells a poor quality product is because of your reputation. Although you are only directing customers to the site where they can buy the product in question, you may still be remembered for your part in the sale. Do you really want to be remembered as the guy or the woman who recommended a product that wasn’t even worth the money spent?

As it was mentioned above, you may be making money with an affiliate program, even if the product being sold isn’t as good as it could have been. Although you may be making money, it probably will not last forever.

In fact, you may soon find your sales decreasing, if the decrease hasn’t already started. You need to remember that customers talk. If a customer was not satisfied with the product that they purchased, they will likely talk to their friends, family members, and coworkers. They may even write negative reviews online. These negative reviews may cause other consumers to avoid purchasing the product that you are selling, as well as your whole website in general.

The money that you can make, right away, may seem nice, at the time, but you need to remember to think long-term. Do you know what you want to do in the future, whether it is now or in a few years? If you are like many people, there is a good chance that you have no idea. What if you want to create your own products to sell online? As it was mentioned above, what you do online now can come back to haunt you. That is why it is important that you think about your future, in the business sense, and it what it may entail. If your dream is to one day start your own online business, you will want to refrain from bad publicity; bad publicity that may come in the form of a poorly run affiliate program.

Although it was advised that you actually test out the products that you will be promoting, through an affiliate program, testing isn’t your only option. You can also research a product online. Reading customer reviews, both good and bad, may give you insight into the product you may have to sell. Better yet, it may help you decide whether or not it is a product that you want to be associated with.

5 Simple Steps to Improve Your Affiliate Offer

As affiliate marketers, we're fortunate in that we don't have as many 'Achilles heels' as the merchants who own and deliver the products we promote for them. Both our investments and our risks tend to be lower.

However, we do have one significant 'weak' spot, and that's in how far we can go in improving 'the offer'. There are certain things we simply can't do. For example, we don't have the authority to offer discounts or deliver upgrades.

But, this 'weakness' doesn't mean we're stuck with 'weak offers'! In fact, I can think of at least 5 ways to improve any offer, and really send our sales soaring:
1. Increase The PERCEPTION of Value -

The real value of any product is always in the customer's mind, and you can increase that perception in dozens of ways. For example, you guide the customer through a comparison of similar products, while pointing out why the one you're promoting is really the best deal for the money.

2. Demonstrate the Immediate Benefits -

Show the customer how they can put the product to use from the moment they buy it. You should already own your own copy of most of the products you promote. So, create a tutorial or some way of showcasing the results you've gotten from the product.

3. Give More of Yourself On a Personal Level --

Similar to Step 2 – There's always added value in social proof. Discuss your own experience surrounding the questions, problems and ultimate solutions in regards to the product at hand. Empathize with the customer's position and point out the things you share in common.

4. Put Them At Ease --

Your relationship to the merchant should enable you to give the customer a sense of security in making the purchase. Let them know about the product's guarantee and/or refund policy. Let them know the transaction is secure. You want to remove as much of the risk as possible from the purchase.

5. Provide Additional Incentives --

Check with the merchant first to make sure you're allowed to do this. Its usually no problem when you're promoting things like e-books, membership sites, etc.. You can really sweeten up an offer when you add your own products to the mix. E.g., “order this e-book, and I'll throw in a free copy of this other product over here..”

So, you see, all it takes is a little creativity to add value to any affiliate offer. Use the 5 steps and you may even blow the merchant's offer clear out of the water!

A Missing Piece of the Profit Puzzle: Applying Leverage In Your Affiliate Business

We all want fatter commission checks. What affiliate doesn't, right?

If you're like the average affiliate marketer – let's say you'd class your experience at the “intermediate level” -- then you're probably wondering how move up the next rung of the ladder, and really start skyrocketing your income to super-affiliate levels.

I've got one word for you: LEVERAGE.

Forget all the latest 'sure thing' tactics for a moment. They're not what you really need. This isn't to say they won't be useful additions to your arsenal, but its not a new bag of tricks you need at this level.

What you need is leverage, and the type of leverage we're talking about here is financial leverage. It is time to start re-investing your profits.

If you're already doing this, I commend you. If not, then read on. Its really important that you appreciate the power of this concept.

Think for a moment about how you got to where you are today. If you're like most affiliates at this level, you started on shoe-string budget, and have worked your way up to about $1,000-$3,000 in commissions per month, max.

You're no doubt supplementing your regular income quite nicely, but probably haven't quit your day job on this income unless you're single and have very little in the way of debt.

For a lot of affiliates, this is the point where apathy (or even fear) comes into play. Its so rewarding to finally have this kind of extra income, you're tempted to spend most of it on yourself or start squirreling it away for a rainy day. After all, everything is running fine just the way you have it set up.

Now, hear this: This is exactly what's stopping you from earning more money!

You've settled on the advertising budget that's working to bring in a few grand. Maybe you do re-invest some of your profit, so that advertising is essentially free now.

But what if, by spending a bit more, you could earn twice or even three times as much?

Well, you CAN, and here's how: Starting this month, commit to leveraging 50% of your affiliate income towards the following two areas:

1. Paid advertising.

2. Getting your own product created

Here's what to do with your paid advertising. First, pull out all the performance data you have for current advertising programs.

Determine which campaigns would benefit from an extra investment of cash. This is not limited just to the top performers. You've probably got at least one campaign that's promising, but could use a little boost.

Some of the areas you might look at include:

*Increasing the overall daily budget in your pay-per-click campaigns

*Text or banner link advertising on a new site

*Running some solo ads in e-zines you haven't advertised in before

The key here is to devote some cash to both the old and the new. Inject some life into your current advertising, but also try out a new venue or a new method (like offline advertising).

Finally, its time for you to invest in getting your own product created. Choose just one of your current niche products, and have someone create a related, complementary product for you.

Why?

Because its going to help you boost your sales by improving your offers. Once you've got your own product, you can leverage it as 'bait' to persuade prospects to take you up on the affiliate product offer.

You've probably seen this tactic employed in the past. Marketer X sends out the promo email to his list, and says, “If you buy product x through me, I'm going to sweeten the deal by giving you all these additional bonus products of mine for free....”

This is really powerful. Before, all you had to rely on was the combined power of your copy writing skills and the copy on the merchant's site; but, with your own product tossed into the mix, you're able to create an even better offer.

This is the beauty of leverage. You needn't worry about parting with some extra money. You'll probably feel a little bit uneasy about it at first, and that's only natural.

However, once you see the results of using leverage, you'll wonder why you didn't start using it sooner!

How to Move Past 'Newbie' Status to Full-Fledged Affiliate Marketer

Every day there's at least one person who discovers 'affiliate marketing' for the first time. And, every day, there's at least one person, maybe that person is you, who goes back to the drawing board trying to figure out why they haven't yet succeeded as wildly as they'd hoped.

No matter which category you fall into, I'd like to share some concepts with you that might make all the difference in the world to your future success. In fact, you just might learn from this article the one thing that helps you start earning real money.

It really all comes down these two mistakes that beginner's make:

1. Promoting to many products at once (lack of focus), and..

2. Giving up too soon.

These two mistakes are related, and are actually self-reinforcing. It sounds obvious enough, but let me explain exactly how this scenario plays out.

Lack of Focus:

Experienced affiliate marketers do have the ability to promote several products, sometimes far afield from each other, at the same time. The reason they can do this is because they'd already learned and applied certain fundamental skills, and have developed a system for themselves which works to bring in sales consistently.

As a beginner, however, you're still learning what works and what doesn't. For that reason alone, you need a clearly defined testing ground – and this means limiting your promotion to just one product when you first start out.

Just imagine for a moment if you were in a laboratory. You're working with a new chemical and need to determine its boiling point, solubility, molecular weight and so on.

Would it be quicker and easier for you to accomplish this by working with just that one chemical, or by juggling multiple, other chemicals all at the same time...starting one experiment and then rushing over to another one midway through?

Obviously, it would be easier to work with just the one chemical, right?

Well, the same is true for marketing. Just like the variables in your lab experiment, you've also got variables in every product promotion you undertake. The variables include things like traffic generation, conversion rates, advertising response rates and so on.

So, how much data do you want to juggle? Do you want to keep track of, say, Google Adwords performance for ONE e-book...or for a dozen of them spread across more than one niche?

This is where a lot beginners get themselves into a rut. They try to juggle all of this information at once, get overwhelmed by it and simply give up.

Giving Up Too Soon:

Ok, so, information overload hits, and you throw your hands in the air in surrender.

There's no need to despair!

You can turn the situation around completely if you'll just make a commitment to do the following three things:

1. Pick ONE niche market

2. Pick ONE product from that market

3. Use just that one niche product as your testing ground, in order to solidify your skills as an affiliate marketer.

You see, its a lot like learning to ride a bicycle as a kid. You start off with a tricycle, then move up to regular bike with training wheels and from there onto riding any bike you choose.

The same is true for learning how to promote products as an affiliate.

*Learn how to generate traffic on just one product

*Learn how to capture subscribers to your opt-in list for just one product

*Learn how to write advertisements and promotional copy for just one product

*Learn how to track your advertising links and conversion rates for just that one product....

....and THEN, you'll be able to turn around and apply that knowledge to additional products, in different niches.

The key is to get some real results established in one place, and only then start building on that incrementally.

If you'll follow even just this one simple rule, I promise you'll see an increase in your commissions – and you can drop that 'newbie' label for the title of: Successful Affiliate Marketer!
